Back in 2000 the hubby and I had just moved into an apartment in Spokane, WA, in late Sept. and by Thanksgiving there was about 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground. Wouldn't you know it, the furnance died and for the entire 4 days of Thanksgiving we had no heat! Luckily our friends lent us their keroscene heater. It was like being in Japan again.
