This is the vision that will haunt the Cardinals all winter:
New York Mets outfielder Endy Chavez makes a leaping catch at the wall to take away a home run away from St. Louis Cardinals Scott Rolen during the sixth inning of Game 7 of baseball's National League Championship Series, Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at Shea Stadium in New York. Yeah, yeah, the score is tied. Technically the Cardinals still have a chance... but this game is over.

I thought for sure when Chavez caught this ball that it was just a matter of time before the Mets scored and took the series. This is the stuff of Champions. It's highlight reel fodder and it will remain timeless.. but then... (see my next comment above..)

Exactly. There’s usually a pivotal moment when someone’s about to win (or lose) a series. Like Mariano throwing the ball into center field in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. Or Dave Roberts stealing second on Mariano in Game 4 of the ALCS in 2004. **SIGH** I still cry over those.
