Dang.SYDNEY (Reuters) - Steve Irwin, the quirky Australian naturalist who won worldwide acclaim, has died in a marine accident off Australia's northeast coast, local media reported on Monday.
Queensland state government sources quoted by Australian Associated Press (AAP) said Irwin, 44, whose television show "The Crocodile Hunter" won international acclaim and popularized the phrase "Crikey," was believed to have been killed by a stingray barb that pierced his chest.
He was an entertaining guy, but not very bright. Remember when he carelessly fed a croc while carrying his infant in the other hand on one of his shows? He was destined to go out violently.
BTW, this story only broke on Reuters about an hour ago and they've already had to lock down his Wikipedia entry because of vandalism!

He died doing the thing he loved most and that is truly something depending how one looks at it. Few of us will ever be so fortunate. I wasn't aware of the Wikipedia thing. They must have "just" done that literally. I was talking to a friend last night and referenced that very page without all of the lockdown issues that's on it now. That's too bad. Vandalism huh? Why am I not surprised...
Whenever there's "breaking news" people take it upon themselves to update Wikipedia. Or hack it.
Hey, I hear the whole sting ray attack was captured on video. He supposedly pulled the barb out of his chest before going unconscious.
