El Duque Injured

Can it get any worse for the Mets?

From ESPN.com:
Already missing Pedro Martinez, the NL East champions suddenly might have to replace scheduled starter Orlando Hernandez in Game 1 of the playoffs because of a calf injury, too.

El Duque felt discomfort in his right leg while he was jogging in the outfield Tuesday as the Mets tuned up for their first-round series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 40-year-old right-hander was pulled off the field and went for an MRI exam.

*sigh* so close but lets all admit, we were expecting something to pop up and cause them fall flat on their faces. But still, I was hoping :)

So far... so good. Good pitching (Mets ball), and small ball not really the Mets forte' but they played 2 solid games. I think they make it to the next round too. But Chavez' Ravine has been unmerciful on the Amazin's. And I haven't forgotten about '88... damn...
